I was encourage to apply. Lol, not for the CIA, haha, but something similar. I have a university degree, and already a few years experience working as an analyst with a mid level clearance. But it's really like a regular job. I get in at 9...leave at 5. My superiors told me that I should apply for this ';compliancy'; position at this other intelligence agency.
I am not really quite sure what ';compliancy agent'; would entail, what I would do, etc. But the movies always make the CIA look so cool...but they told me it's nothing like the movies. Um...yeah okay. How would life be like working for something like the CIA? Is it still 9 to 5? Is the atmosphere really strict? How would life be like working for the CIA?
You may be an excellent candidate. We need people who will honor their oath to the constitution rather than act on behalf of corrupt elected and appointed power brokers.
Please be aware of the fact that for decades, the CIA has been involved in clandestine operations throughout the world to destabilize governments, interrogate prisoners (torture), and other activities associated with the American occupation of the Middle East.
We need people in the CIA who will respect limits to power and work ethically from within to fix a corrupt system. Maybe you can be the voice that can make a difference.
Good luck and remember your oath. How would life be like working for the CIA?
You might work 24/7
I could tell ya but then I would have to kill ya.
No- i have no idea sorry to take up your space.
i rekcon not too bad if your into the stuff like that although if you have a family i would not go for it you will be away alot and sometimes like the SAS if you are shot wounded you will left and forggotten about so up to you.
very secretive.
At Langley? It's like it is at any other place in corporate America, except at lunchtime you don't talk about work related matters. There are even nifty lil reminders that loose lips sink ships all around the place (especially areas where co-workers mingle), sound like what you do now....Pretty exciting huh?
Depending on what DO you work for the job can get a little exciting.
The exciting part is for the FSOs, station chiefs, or anyone else under any other title stationed overseas. The paramilitary part (the jobs you usually see on TV and movies) makes up about 1% of the employees in the intelligence community.
Give it a try....At the very worst, CIA never looks bad on a resume.
