How long do you have to remain in the marines after in enlisting?

Right now I'm in high school, I want to go to college and then enlist in the marines with a 4 year degree and then after the military try to get a job in the FBI or CIA as a special agent. I'm trying to see how the timing of this process works out.How long do you have to remain in the marines after in enlisting?
All enlistments are for eight years. A certain number (usually 4) are active, meaning you go to work, get paid, deploy, etc, and the remaining four are spent in the Individual Ready Reserve (IRR). While in the IRR, you don't train, you're not subject to UCMJ, etc, but if the military calls you back in, you have to go.

However, if you're in the IRR, and they call you back, you can get out of it if you have a good reason (eg: special agent in the CIA).

If you have a four year degree, might I suggest going the officer route. You get more pay, respect, it's great management experience, and carries a LOT more weight when applying for other federal jobs. Especially if you go into intelligence (specifically for CIA).How long do you have to remain in the marines after in enlisting?
If you get your degree, why not apply for OCS instead of enlisting,

If your long range plans include Federal Law Enforcement, Get a degree in something useful, such as Law, Accounting or IT. All are useful in todays environment of white collar and cyber crimes.
8 years. All first enlistments are for 8 years. Usually 4 years is active duty and the remaining 4 years in the Individual Ready Reserve.
