How could I get a somewhat low-risk job at the CIA?

I don't want to have a really boring job at the CIA (if that is even possible), but I also don't want to be running around the Middle East or Europe, having a bunch of wackos trying to kill me with poison-induced pellets fired from umbrellas or something like that because I am an American spy working for the CIA.

Reading intelligence reports would be fine with me and I wouldn't mind doing some traveling once in a while. The only places I am really looking at for a career right now are the CIA, NSA, and the Office of Naval Intelligence. How could I get a somewhat low-risk job at the CIA?
dude, what you want is a job at the post office.stop watching mtv and fx,the cia is real life and people do die !How could I get a somewhat low-risk job at the CIA?
I hear desk jobs at the police department are far safer. You have a long long way to go if you want a ';safe'; job at the top. They probably reserve those for the retired and wounded. You know, the ones who got injured in the line of duty from those poison pellets.
A common path to the CIA is through the military. However, you'd need to distinguish yourself to draw attention. You do realize that a big part of what the CIA does is an imperial effort to corner material and labor resources around the world, right? I'd read about E. Howard Hunt and about other CIA efforts around the world.

I'd study languages such as French and Spanish. I'd learn about the seamy underside of US foreign policy and study history. I think the CIA deserves a better caliber of people than have been seen in recent history. Read Noam Chomsky for a better perspective.

If you are smart enough, you may be recruited.

In order to get any job with the CIA or FBI you will need to have a very high GPA.. graduate from a very good school...lots of volunteering work and good references from important people in your life. You will also need a very clean background (no nude Myspace pics etc..). You don't just apply and get in...they are very selective because they are very elite.

Good luck. I'm sure you can google and get more ideas....I'm not trying to burst your hopes...but its very difficult.
Learn farsi or arabic fluently. Take lots of math and language courses for code breaking work. Learn computer skills and learn to hack into secure systems.
Well, you could always apply for a job there. That's certainly the best way.
